I shared two great weight loss tips with you yesterday, and here are some more for today to help you maintain your health and to benefit your slimming process.

3. Have a snack
I have spoken to many people who said that their most difficult part of the day to keep from snacking is from 16h00 until dinner.  Often you get home, ravenous, have a glass of wine and snack on chips, last night’s leftovers and probably anything you can find.  Then when dinner comes, you are not even hungry anymore and already feel tired and heavy from all the carbs you snacked on.

A midmorning snack is good, but an afternoon snack is essential.  After five to six hours of no nourishment, your blood sugar falls and you start craving food, lot’s of food!

A good snack contains fibre and protein to help sustain you.  It should be small and could be some walnuts, cranberries, an apple, piece of cheese or biltong

4. Fill up on the vegetables
Think of your dinner as a pyramid.  The vegetables should form the base, lean protein the next level and carbohydrates the small apex.  Unfortunately most of us eat it the other way around.  Starches are less filling and less nutritious than veggies or protein, and therefore should be kept to a minimum.

Want to get slimmer and feel healthier fast?  Here are a few guidelines to help you make some easy changes that will benefit you to !

Tip 1: Ensure that you get at least 8g of fibre for breakfast
Experts recommend that women should consume 30-35g of fibre daily.  However, most women don’t even get 10g!  Fibre is a powerful tool as it is a bulky substance and keeps you feeling full and satisfied.  It is also responsible for sending the “I am full” signals to your brain.  Fibre also assists in digestion and removing toxins from the body.

Fibre is key to reducing weight and if you are able to get enough fibre at breakfast, the rest of the day should be much easier!  Fruit and vegetables does not have as much fibre as one would imagine and therefore you either need to obtain the fibre from a supplement, and or from fibre-rich grains.

Tip 2: Plan your go-to meals
