In our quest to diet and lose weight, a great amount of misconceptions have been formed about what dieting is and what is requires of you to slim down.  These misconceptions then often are the very things that stand in the way of a successful lifestyle change and weight loss.

1. Diet = suffering
The idea that has to be a process of suffering is not correct.  It also shouldn’t be a time of starvation!  In fact, if you follow a diet that is too low in calories, you will not lose weight as your body perceives this low food content as a threat and starts to protect its fat stores – which stop you from losing weight.

2. You only start a diet on a Monday or first day of the month
