Herbalife is a world-renowned health company with the ambition to assist in improving the lives of society as a whole by emphasising the importance which good nutrition plays regarding enjoying wellness as part of a healthy lifestyle. It is sad to note however that due to the spread of fatal diseases such as HIV/Aids more and more children are being orphaned and therefore do not have access to daily good nutritional food. It is for this very reason that Herbalife recently established the initiative known as the Herbalife Family Foundation whose aim it is to ensure that children less-fortunate receive their required good nutrition on a daily basis.

Today, with the great efforts made, the Herbalife Family Foundation is changing the lives of children in need all over the world.

CASA Herbalife

As a part of the Herbalife Family Foundation a new program known as CASA Herbalife has been established. The purpose behind the CASA Herbalife program is, by working with charity organisations already existing around the world, to ensure that the aim regarding children in need being fed nutritious healthy meals is met.

Named after an orphanage which the Herbalife Family Foundation built in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil in 1998, there are currently 25 CASA Herbalife programs which are established around the world of which include namely:

• Foundation for Children (FFC) in Bangkok, Thailand

• NCH, the Children's Charity through the Hackney Young Careers Project, in London, England

Besides offering support to orphaned, underprivileged children, the Herbalife Family Foundation furthermore acts as a support in times of international emergency. Responding to natural disasters, special funds from the donations of generous contributors have been set up by the Herbalife Family Foundation to support Save the Children, the American Red Cross and SOS Children's Villages.

To give an example of how the Herbalife Family Foundation has helped in times of need: in the years of 2004 and 2005, when the major tsunamis, hurricanes and earthquakes struck, the Herbalife Family Foundation distributed close to $900,000 to support the victims of these terrific disasters.

The continual operation and expansion of the Herbalife Family Foundation is dependent on donations which are made worldwide by Herbalife independent distributors and by the generosity of individuals and other corporations.

Since the Herbalife Family Foundation was established in 1994 an impressive amount of $6,5 million has been received, enabling the Herbalife Family Foundation to improve the lives of children all over the world through developing programs such as CASA Herbalife, building shelters, and offering education and other basic services.
