Weight loss advice - Exercise
There is no need to go on a vigorous training
program that you cannot sustain in the long
term. You should rather tailor an exercise program
to your daily routine. Since so many of us work
full time in corporate setups, we don't have
the time for two-hour workouts and should thus
get exercise in other ways:
- Go for a brisk stroll around the block or
in the park once a day. It can be in the morning,
afternoon or during your lunch break. Try to
walk at least 20 minutes non-stop. This will
help you sustain you weight. If you need to
lose weight, increase the distance or time with
5 to 10 minutes. You can burn around 150-200
calories in this way.
- Cycling is not only good for fat burning;
it also ensures a well-toned body. You can burn
a lot of calories if you cycle around 1 to 2
km a day.
- Climb the stairs at your work instead of taking
the lift.
- Swim a few laps at a slow pace a day. You
can burn around 130 calories with this activity
in 15 minutes. It is not only good for toning,
but also provides a healthy cardio workout.
- Work in your garden for half and hour a day.
Cut the grass, trim the edges or take out the
weeds to lose around 130 calories easily.
- Play tennis or squash twice a week to burn
more than 1000 calories.
- Do twenty sit-ups or sit-backs a day to tone
your stomach muscle.
- Dance for 15 minutes non-stop to burn 100
calories.
